David Hawkins

Litigation Executive - Historic Abuse

David has over 22 years experience working in the field of Personal Injury and Child Abuse law.  He is an accredited Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.  He has travelled extensively to visit clients, including seeing clients as far away as Finland.

David specialises in non-recent abuse cases and successfully represented a number of ex-football players against Premier League clubs for the sexual abuse they suffered as young players from coaching staff.

In addition, David has a great deal of experience in making claims against other institutions such as the Church of England, and a number of schools, both state run and fee-paying.  David also has experience of bringing claims against local authorities for the abuse of children in their care.

David has been heavily involved in representing claimants to Redress Schemes, including the Lambeth Children’s Homes Redress Scheme, where he has recovered millions of pounds compensation for his clients.  David is currently representing a number of applicants to the Jesus Army Redress Scheme.

In addition to acting in a wide range of claims for sexual abuse, he also participated in the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) and worked with Core Participants to the Inquiry in order to prepare their testimonies.

David also acts for claimants in a wide range of Personal Injury cases, including many complex, high value cases, involving severe physical and psychological injuries.

David has earned a reputation as a robust litigator, securing the best results for clients, whilst being approachable, explaining often complicated issues in plain English.
