Micah is a solicitor with over 4 years of post-qualification experience.

After training with a national top 50 law firm, he qualified into their Restructuring and Insolvency Team. He has since enjoyed spells with leading litigation firms in the British Virgin Islands, a UK Based boutique insolvency specialist and in Bermuda.

He brings a wide range of commercial dispute resolution experience and several decades of technical, commercial and relationship management in industry. 

Areas of Expertise

Corporate Insolvency – Micah has worked for many leading insolvency practitioners in both the UK and Caribbean, working to recover assets and value for creditors. 

Breaches of Directors & Fiduciary Duties – representing both claimants and defendants Micah has extensive experience in impugned transactions and debt recovery.

Breach of Contract Claims – Micah has worked on a variety of breach of contract claims including debt recovery, specific performance, terms and conditions, quality and warranty issues.

Shareholder Disputes – Micah has been involved in a number of shareholder disputes on such issues as the Duomatic principle and breach of shareholder agreements.

Trust disputes – Micah has worked on matters concerning breaches of trustee’s duties, nomination and removal of beneficiaries, declarations, the rule in Cherry & Boultbee, Quistclose trusts and Quincecare duties.

Probate Disputes – undue influence claims, delayed distribution and mismanagement of assets.

Employment disputes – constructive dismissal, unfair dismissal and discrimination claims.

Notable Work or Achievements 

Micah worked on presenting the winding up petition to wind up PIHL, the ultimate parent company of the Daily Telegraph and the Spectator. The client eventually secured a £1.2bn sale of the debt as a result generating a 100% return on their outstanding debt. 

Professional Background 

Micah graduated from the University of Portsmouth with first class honours in law and was awarded a master’s degree with a commendation from the University of Law the following year. 

Before becoming a solicitor, Micah enjoyed a long career in senior management roles in IT Service Management for Sun Microsystems and Oracle Corp as the leader of teams of relationship managers managing multi-million dollar service relationships with large corporate clients. He has also been the Commercial and Engagement Manager for Portsmouth Football Club following its acquisition by supporters and was previously a Councillor representing Charles Dickens Ward on Portsmouth City Council.

Beyond the Desk

Micah is an avid supporter of Portsmouth Football Club and is an active father of 5 and grandfather of 3.
