Kevin Richardson

Kevin was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives on 11th June 2001.  He has been employed in the legal profession since he left school at 16 years of age and earned his qualifications while working and therefore has over 30 years practical experience in the law.

He has been employed at Biscoes since March 1998, having previously worked at other local firms and also within the legal department of a local authority.

Throughout his career he conducted a wide range of contentious matters and has an extensive practical knowledge of the court process involved in conducting claims.  He has a significant knowledge of the areas of law in which he practices.

He has an extensive experience of appearing before judges and conducting litigation well as conducting alternative dispute resolution processes including round table meetings and mediations.

He has an empathetic and pragmatic approach to his client’s legal issues as well has having a calm, reassuring but confident persona and is able to relax his clients who are often involved in complex and sensitive disputes.  He uses his knowledge and experience to try and resolve those issues and disputes quickly and proportionately when it comes to costs.  Kevin has extensive experience of alternative dispute resolution and has successfully represented his clients at mediation.

Having previously conducted a wide range of contentious disputes Kevin has found his passion, expertise and specialism in advising clients in all disputes involving deceased estates, including contested Will disputes, Inheritance Act Claims, disputes regarding trusts including the removal of trustees and disputes arsing over trust property (including claims under the Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996) Estoppel and unjust enrichments claims.

Kevin also advises on all aspects of professional negligence.

He also advises on some land issues including boundary and easement disputes, disputes involving claims for adverse possession and long lease disputes including service and maintenance  charge disputes before the first tier tribunal.

Outside work Kevin enjoys music, reading, keeping fit and most sport, although watching rather than participating more these days. He remains a keen follower of Portsmouth Football club, when his family and work commitments allow.
