Colette is a Chartered Legal Executive and experienced Paralegal within Biscoes' Child Care Team, bringing a decade of dedicated children public law experience.

Known for her empathetic, and highly organised approach, she supports clients through some of the most emotionally challenging circumstances. Colette combines legal expertise with exceptional client care, ensuring that every case is managed with diligence, compassion, and meticulous attention to detail. 

Areas of Expertise
  • Care pre-proceedings (Public Law Outline) – offer assistance where a parent has received a letter from a Local Authority indicating they are considering issuing court proceedings.
  • Care Proceedings – acting for parents in court proceedings concerning Children where Social Services (Local Authority) are involved.
  • Special Guardianship Orders – offer guidance to extended family members who need to determine the most suitable role in which they can care for a relative’s child.
  • Section 20 “Voluntary Accommodation” – enabling the parent or carer with Parental Responsibility to make an informed decision.
  • Discharge of Care Orders - offer guidance to parents and carers who are considering applying to discharge a Care Order, helping them understand the process and the factors the court will take into account.
  • S34 Contact Orders – offer guidance to parents and carers who are considering applying for or responding to a Section 34 Contact Order, typically in situations where a child is in a Local Authority’s care and contact arrangements need to be set, reviewed, or challenged.
  • Applications for Legal Aid - in relation to the above, where available and appropriate.
