GBM Secondment Worker

The Secondment Worker route is for overseas workers who wish to be temporarily seconded to the UK by their employer based overseas as part of a high value contract or investment. 

To be eligible under the Secondment worker route, you must.

  • Be 18 or over
  • be an existing employee of an overseas organisation that has a high-value contract with your UK sponsor that has been approved by the Home Office
  • have worked for your overseas employer for at least 12 months outside the UK
  • have a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your sponsor with information about the work you will do in the UK
  • do a job in the UK that’s on the list of eligible occupations
  • must have a genuine job to undertake
  • The job you are planning to do is skilled to at least RQF Level 6, the role must be equivalent to a graduate level role
  • You have enough money financially support yourself without relying on public funds
  • You have provided a valid TB certificate, if required.

For this visa you do not need to satisfy an English language requirement.

Your dependents can also join you under this visa, however they have to meet relationship requirements and financial requirements.

The costs for this application are.

  • £259 Home Office application fee
  • Annual Immigration Health Surcharge, £624 per year

Apart from these fees, you’re typically expected to have at least £1,270 in a personal account to show that you can financially support yourself. 

This route does not lead to settlement.
