Trade Marks - Similar Name Application Prevented

When there is a risk of confusion on account of the registration of a trade mark name similar to yours, prompt action is advised.

Recently, well-known double glazing firm Anglian Windows noted that an application had been made by an unrelated company, which had been incorporated in August 2014, to register trade marks in the names of Anglian Roof Trim and Anglian Home Improvement.

Fearing that the public could be misled into thinking that the trade marks referred to Anglian Windows, with a resulting potential detriment to the company, it sought and obtained a court order for an injunction to prevent the trade mark registration applications.
