The Civil Litigation Department at Biscoes has significant experience and expertise in a wide variety of contentious disputes this also includes extensive knowledge and expertise of alternative dispute resolution and mediation processes which must now be considered as an alternative to court proceedings.  This process is usually much quicker, less adversarial and certainly less costly than Court proceedings.  Mediation can also help achieve a resolution to a dispute which the Court may not have power to order.

Civil Litigation work is varied and is a descriptive term used by the legal profession to encompass legal issues which usually involve a dispute between two or more parties which is likely to need resolution by a Court of law or some other tribunal or judicial process.

The Civil Litigation Department is based at our Head Office at Kingston Crescent in Portsmouth, but we can arrange for our Lawyers, if more convenient to clients, to attend any one of the firms 5 other branch offices.  In certain circumstances we can arrange to visit clients at home.

We can provide a complete service from the start to the end of the court process or can offer advice and provide a taylor made service where appropriate on certain issues to suit each client and their budgets.  Our advice will include the best methods available to try and resolve the dispute, including advice on the use of mediation as well as a complete service including representation up to and including trial and thereafter the enforcement of any judgment or awards as necessary.

We are committed to providing an all-round first class service to include continuous advice to clients regarding the costs of taking the proceedings, which will include a constant review of the evidence and a cost benefit analysis to ensure that the costs being spent by the client are proportionate to the issue in dispute.
